Tucked away in a quiet corner of the sleepy village of Paternoster and hidden behind drooping Bougainville’s, you will find the Smugglers’ Cottage. A multi level house, with beautiful courtyards, a swimming pool and only a few steps away from the beautiful Bekbaai beach.
The beautiful guesthouse, The Smugglers’ Cottage, filled with mystery and magic, was designed and built in 2002 by the talented duo Wayne and Sandy Attrill. Bought in 2015 by Rob and Sue-Anne Hamer, they decided to share this beautiful house as a bed and breakfast to those visiting Paternoster. With only 3 rooms, one of those a family room (which sleeps 4), Smugglers’ Cottage, offers affordable and unique accommodation to couples, families and even those travelling with their four legged children.
Our experienced staff, led by Ansu, will ensure that your stay in Paternoster and the Smugglers’ Cottage will be stress free, enjoyable and unforgettable. Spend your days walking along white beaches in search of a lost treasure or lounge by the pool and soak up the West Coast sun while listening to the waves crash beyond. Rinse of the salty sand in the en-suite rain showers, before leaving for a delectable supper at one of the many fine establishments in the village.
A hearty breakfast is served from 08h30 in the kitchen, find a seat in one of the courtyards or the dining room table right there in the kitchen.
